Undergraduates Aysha Aguilera Mayorga and Anya Hu both walked away with important recognitions for their work during the 2024-25 academic year. At the UTM research opportunity project (ROP) symposium held Tuesday, 8 April 2025, Aysha was honored with best poster award for her work on the Entner-Doudoroff pathway in cynobacteria, while Anya received honorable mention for her groundbreaking work on chloroplast glycolysis. Both posters were equally meritorious in my estimation, and I am incredibly proud of both students for their excellent work and high quality presentations. Congratulations, Aysha and Anya!
